Taskforces are the backbone of AfroMedica. Each group focuses on a specific domain and is coordinated by at least one lead and one co-lead, working collaboratively to ensure smooth operations and alignment with our mission.

Our current taskforces include:

(Vice-)President

The president and vice-president ensure AfroMedica stays aligned with its vision and values. Their responsibilities include:

  • Leading and preparing general assemblies
  • Serving as a contact point for both external partners and internal members
  • Monitoring objectives and progress across all teams

PR

PR is responsible for AfroMedica’s public image and internal communication flow. Their main responsibilities are:

  • Managing social media and creating content (instagram, linkedin, facebook...)
  • Handling messages and DMs and directing them to the right teams
  • Designing visuals

Finance

Handles all financial matters and ensures proper budgeting and documentation. Their responsibilities are:

  • Processing payments and reimbursements
  • Bookkeeping and administrative compliance
  • Drafting price lists and managing invoices

AfroMedica Community

This taskforce focuses on building a strong internal network among AfroMedica members. Their responsibilities include:

  • Inviting members to events (eg. AfroMedica Talks
  • Welcoming new members and overseeing board applications
  • Keeping track of active members and turnover
  • Managing announcements

AfroMedica Talks

This taskforce focuses organizes educational and public-facing events like podcasts and journal clubs. Their main responsibilities are:

  • Planning and scheduling speakers and topics
  • Managing logistics and locations

AfroMedica Academy

This is AfroMedica’s educational arm, focused on capacity building and knowledge sharing. Their responsibilities are:

  • Maintaining a resource library
  • Designing education modules
  • Collaborating with external experts

Internal Admin

This taskforce ensures operational continuity and internal structure. Their main responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining SharePoint and contact lists
  • Coordinating all the taskforces internal work
  • Overseeing internal calendars and administrative inquiries

Policy

This taskforce drives our mission to bring forth with structural and systemic change. Their responsibilities are:

  • Monitoring the political landscape and policy trends
  • Engaging with various institutions (IOM, Domus Medica, hospitals, Unia, EU...
  • Writing opinion pieces for mainstream media
  • Developing and publishing internal guidelines
